Directions For Donating Online

To donate online, paypal makes it quite easy and efficient. You will have to register with paypal.com, create an account and the works. If you already have an account, you’re one step ahead of the game. Once you register and sign in, and after uploading the money to your paypal account, all you have to do is send an email to milesforclint@gmail.com that will notify the family that the money is available and they can access it. They then log onto their account and can transfer the amount to their bank account. Paypal was chosen because it provides a trusted, secure network where money can be safely transferred. This method also prevents hundreds of checks floating through the mail system and possibly being lost, damaged or delayed.

50,000 Mile Challenge for Clint Mooney

Today marks the beginning of a unique project to benefit a member of the running community. His name is Clint Mooney, and currently he is in Maryland at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, battling through physical therapy, fighting against the paralysis that he faces from the chest down after a serious car accident in October. He is a freshman and was going to run cross country for Longwood University. From now, until February 18, a network of runner around the state will be running for Clint. The challenge is simple:  runners around the state can run and for every mile they run, donors can donate dollars for miles run, with the ultimate goal of 50,000 miles/dollars. The money will help offset the travel expenses, time off from work, and other bills the family needs to pay that insurance won’t pay. Even if you don’t run, you may still donate whatever you are able. If you run, you can post pics and mileage to this blog, by leaving comments, or sending the information to milesforclint@gmail.com, and I will post your info and pics to the site. This is a great way to show Clint the support and backing he has from fellow runners, especially during this time he and his family need it the most.

Clint Mooney

Throughout the next few weeks, myself and members of his family will be updating the blog with pics and other information about his status. In early February, doctors will determine whether the therapy is working and whether to proceed. He still has a ton of leg power left!!  Donations can be made online at paypal.com. From the paypal site, email donations to milesforclint@gmail.com Let’s show Clint how much leg power he has left!!
